LifeStyle Chair Issue

Hi I have had one of the Life-Style chairs for a bout a year now, and about two weeks ago I started to notice an issue, where the chair has unexpected jump/shudder while in use. Almost like there is tension built up, and then a release of that tension. Hard to describe. Seems to occur less often if I reduce the vibration slide to its lowest setting, but doesn’t completely go away.

I’ve reached out to support at Jaymar, but curious if anyone has any thoughts.

Thanks!

Did you try to reset the system? Turn everything off as well as the hub and then turn it back on?

I ā€œthinkā€ may have had what you are describing at one time and I may have had to reset the hub to correct issue. But not sure on that … definitely hit up support on this to verify.

Agree with Steve. Try to reset first. Have Jaymar got back to you yet? If not: support@d-box.com and mention you tried to contact Jaymar first.

Thanks for the responses. Jaymar got back to me, asked for a video of the issues which I sent them. Waiting to hear back. Thanks!

I have the same issue, everything was fine in November. Tried a new movie today and I have this big shudder that is hard not to notice. I tried to reset all my seats and Hub. It does it now on the calibration test which never did before…help !

Yep it was all of a sudden for me in November as well. I’ll reply back when I hear back from Jaymar.

Tim

Happens with my seats as well. Random ā€œjoltsā€ from time to time. Started just recently for me as well.

Is everyone here using the Jaymar LifeStyle chair, or are their other brands/chair types as well?

Tim

I have Jaymar chairs (3 of them) …I did possibly have the issue you are discussing awhile back (early/mid 2021)…is it a sharp jarring violent actuator movement every once in awhile in the chairs - not part of movie coding? I had to open a trouble ticket which I am including here in case this help D-Box resolve this issue (CCA-38017). I am not sure what caused this, but it only started to happen when I used tried out the audio in portion of the hub (not sure if this is what actually caused the issue, only providing what ā€œchangedā€ for me before I started having the issue). Before that I used the microphone for recognizing movies…the one time I tried it to see if the system would pick up movie faster by using the audio in port and that is when I started to have the ā€œjoltingā€ problem. After finally resolving issue I have never gone back to using the ā€œaudio inā€ of the hub - I only use the microphone…which kind of sucks as I can’t/won’t test/try out the new haptic sound upgrade they did recently. But the issue I had was so hard to try to resolve that it is not worth it to me to change my set up. I believe after all of the troublehsooting I did to try to resolve, the hub ended up getting ā€œbrickedā€ and had to be replaced. Once replaced with a new hub, the system worked again like it is was supposed to… and have not had that issue again…and also have never used ā€œaudio inā€ either.

Does any of the above sound like the issue(s) you are having?

Again not sure if this is the same issue, but provided my info in case it helps.

Thanks for the response. i took a video of the issue which you can watch here:

The description matches, though I have always used the speaker on the Haptisync box.

Hi Tim,

I’m using 3 Jaymar Lifestyle seats. I’m using the audio in for my setup. I’ve only recently noticed the issue however. I wonder if it was introduced with recent firmware updates to either the HaptiSync or the HaptiSync app.

Hey Tim, I have the same ā€˜ā€˜jolting’’ as you. Saw your video and seems to be the same. I don’t have any fault on my chair (on the back panel) and also no fault on the app…really wierd. Might be an software issue…

I swap my cable from seat 1 and seat 2. I tried and it seems less doing it.

I’m using 2 Jaymar LifeStyle II bought in september 2022.

Here’s my error, pretty much the same as you Tim

Yes that looks to be the same issue I had back in 2021.

Hi everyone! Just a note to confirm that we have seen this thread and we’re looking into it. Stay tuned!
